How many of you have dropped your land line phones in favor of only a cell phone

It irritates me how much we all pay for cell phones in our house, then have to pay for the land line phone also... I'm thinking about dropping it and only going with the cell. Any suggestions? How many of you have done this and is it working for you?

Certainly because of the convinience mobile phones are gaining more popularity than landline phones.Even we have mobile phones which makes it convinient to keep in touch with each other, particularly when we are out.But joint families and towns people are still using landlines. And it certainly has its advantages like being loyal always as it does not ever go out of coverage...

I just can't make that move to cancel my service on the landline because the cell service is so unreliable at times. It's not going to be the other way around though. I will never get rid of my cell phone. Where I go, IT goes! :)

i still keep mine land line,, i just stopped long distance.. i figure i'm always losing my phone in the house somewhere,-so i still need my land line. But, the long distance part has saved me about $25.00 per month.. i just use my cell for that since i have nationwide callig available.

We have dropped long distance also, so that's a little bit of a savings. You're right --even though I take really good care of my phone and have it with me most of the time, I do occasionally misplace it once in a while. I'm mostly worried about dropping the land line because the cell service in our area is not that reliable.

Those are good reasons for keeping yours, though a lot of people have cable internet and unlimited minutes. It just seems like way too much to be paying for phone usage...
