im SICK of members who just respond for the sake

Philippines

others just make it for points, even typing a very short words without sense, others react right away without getting the whole story, and the ones, i really dont know why they exist here, is responding like a critic, sarcastic and too narrow minded,... i like to minus, but i rather report them, and its getting tired of always having the same act, imagine if these kind of people will dwell here just to make fun and wont contribute a bit, or imagine if almost all of them are this way..how will this community work? just for money? are they even aware of the guidelines? maybe i cant force them, but how come they are still in existence bothering other members and others..

Right on! I totally agree. I get so mad at the ones who post nonsense. I've even seen ones that were "zxeerdfdc adffreef". Litterally, just a bunch of letters thrown together. Of course I rated that a minus. I also had some one post something that had nothing to do with the discussion. So I made a comment. Being very clear to that person that they are wasting everyones time. I hope mylot has a way of checking on people like that and kicking them out. Because time is money here. And if I have to wade through the bad stuff to get to good stuff, I"m not posting as much as I should. Ok, now I'm just ranting. Thanks for letting me do that.

I agree totally with you. I really hope that members would be more cooperative by posting a reasonable response. Not just a word or sentence type. It means that they are just interested to grow their ratings as well as to earn.

I think when mylot announce the new reputations system it was a sign that they do take notes on those kind of low qualities activities within the community.I think with all the hard works and seriousness from mylot as well as members here those who always make meaningless contributions will sooner or later been take care of.

dear i have come across so many such people. like when i post a topic and someone responds with a looooong story (probably just copied off the net) which has absolutely NO relavence to what i'm asking. aren't these people scared of someone reporting them ?don't they care if there score goes down ? or worse.. of getting banned from mylot ?

Hah! Know you are finally realizing that others here are just for the money, and not for the discussion!;) If they think they can earn easy money by just responding with silly answers or with two-word responses, they must be fooling theirselves. We all should have to be aware of the significance of this community, money cannot be earned here just as easy as they thought..

I agree with all the earlier responders.... plus, let's face it: although it is nice to be compensated for your efforts, how "rich" does one get for responding with a nonsense sentence, or starting stupid discussions that are no discussions at all and against which I have been ranting a few times the last few weeks... Mylot is for the fun, not the money! The few dollars compensation are hardly worthwhile to poison the mylot-environment!

its been a problem in this site long before I got here and it still is..I will never forget the first time I saw one of the pepsi vs. coke discussions and someone replied "never"...I was mad for the person who started the discussion..I thought not only did this person just post for the sake of posting, but they didn't even ansewer the question..the people who reply "thanks" really make me the angriest because they don't even care if you know they are in it for the penny..its so pathetic that people could do that..I report people left and right for stuff like that..if I can run my outh in over 1000 discussions, why the heck can you? lol

That is why there is a rating system in place. If someone asnswers with just one word or it doesn't make any sense then rate them accordingly. Also, give those whose answers are good and have taken the time to post a good answer a plus +.

Mylot should be reducing them if they get lots of reports. I know it is a hassle but we all work together and we will keep this a great site for users and genuine community contributers.

Thumbs down - thumbs down to those who just want to analyse, criticise and act too narrow minded
I agree with you and I don't honestly think they should bother, its not as if we are going to be able to retire on the money made here. What drives me mad are the people who have to analyse and give me a critical response to a hypothetical question I sometimes post. If they don't want to join in, then don't respond. Sometimes I think they are trying to tell me I have asked a question that has no meaning, when all I wanted was to have a laugh. Thanks for a good discussion.

It does get irritating when you start or respond to a discussion and all you get is a "I don't think so" or some other one line answer. I posted a discussion and one of the responses was one word and made absolutely no sense! I think the people who are in it just for a quickie answer and the money should be booted over to dormcheck. No offense if you use it, I tried it once and after 5 minutes I decided it wasn't the place for me, I couldn't find anything of substance there. :)

I agree with you. I recently asked a question and asked that only those who have meaningful input respond. The first answer I got was from some idiot who replied, Nope, don't know what that is. So I responded by giving him a minus rating and asking him why he wasted my time with such a nonsense answer. Hey, thanks for letting me vent.

The vast majority of the members here on MyLot aren't like that. I personally feel the ones who respond just for the sake of responding are in this community just to try and make a little bit of money. They're not interested in making friends, or actually contributing to the discussion in any way. I hate those kind of people. You need to be careful if you keep rating them negatively though, because if you keep doing it, you'll be seen as the one in the wrong - not them. They probably are aware of the guidelines but just decide not to follow them, or they do just enough to stay within the guidelines.

You will always encounter this type of thing, although the situation at Mylot has improved quite a lot over the past few months. Despite the guidelines I expect that it would be impossible to fully eradicate the problem, because even if Mylot banned every poor posting member there wouild be new members introduced who behaved the same way.

I really do not know why, but they are starting to fade slowly. There seem to be a lot on here at the moment trying to ruin a good Site and they seem to think that they earn money doing this, but I think you should report them if it is really bad and give them a Minus I have had to do it to a couple of Members for the rudness and the stupid responses.

Now that I totally agree with you! I think all they do is scroll down to typical topic and read the topic the jot down something short and fast and then next to another topic.

There's no point to being a parrot. There are people here who truly want to know the answer or your opinion of the subject and for one to say, "wow I know how you feel" but in a shorter context does not help the person asking the question. Of course, you have to also remember that not everyone agrees with you, so you have to be able to take criticism (yes that's the writer in me coming up.) and if you are a politically correct person, to realize that perhaps your opinion may be wrong.

I totally agree with you, I don't post a response unless it is something that interests me or I think that I can contribute something, plus this is not the place to be making big money. I think that it is rude to the people who start the discussions and are looking for some real answers.

i am a newbie here and still learning the ropes. But i think I have seen a few responses like the ones you are talking about. They don't have any relation to the discussion. I understand that sometimes everyone has already said everything you might, and in that case, saying: "I completely agree with this person's response" would seem acceptable? Especially if it included an "and here's why..". Really, I don't know why people do it if it's just for the money. what kind of money can you possibly make on this place? a few pennies shouldn't be worth annoying the author of a discussion.
