I don't think that there's anything morally wrong with it at this point it's just a matter of preference. I've always suspected that that tradition came about when people were still marrying in their early to mid teens as a way of balancing the fact that girls mature younger than boys do at that age.

Well in terms of evolution, when the average life expectancy was much shorter it would be a good adaptation so that women could have more children. I think this probebly accounts for the physical changes. As for the emotional and physical changes, that's still open to debate. Feminists would argue that its caused by socializetion of gender roles at younger ages. I think it probebly has more to do with what you see when you look in the mirror, girls look older than boys so they try to act it. Remember teenagers always want to to feel more adult.

I don't see why not. It's a matter of preference. My husband and I are both of the same age. Well, he's older by 3 months but we're born on the same year. I don't know how the tradition started actually. It's pretty universal, but I think the reasons are different for each country.

I have no problem with anyone marrying someone older than them. Just as long as both people are of legal age to marry and do so of their own free will. I think tradtion is like this because of how we were raised. I know it is much more common to see a young woman with an older man. But if the couple is happy, who really cares? Not me.

I think age isn't involved in the decision to marry, assuming you have consenting adults. My wife is older than I am, and it has never been an issue. I always just give her a hard time about being the older woman...
