now in films there are more negatives things such us the violence, the arms,...and the actors are not so good such were Connery,Cary Grant,John Wayne and others... I like a lot the Gladiator but I've seen for a lot of times the godfather

Recently I saw a film called "Children of Men," and I could not believe how excellent it was. From the first moment, the opening scene, to the very last, it made it's way into my "soul" so-to-speak...the acting was suberb, Clive Owen was amazing. It was the first really high quality film I've seen in a very very long time. I went with my daughter, and she's very critical of movies, almost always finds things wrong with them, but this one, as soon as we got outside the theatre, all she said was.."finally...a great movie.." and then fell silent. We talked about it some more later, of course. It was very thought provoking. Also "Little Miss Sunshine" was really good, I loved that. There are others I want to see, that I know are really good, like "The Departed," and "The Queen," and "Little Children." I think movies today are inferior for the most part from movies in the past. Movies today rely too much on special effects and computer generated action and scenery and so on. I mean, no one notices the acting so much, as we're so caught up in the special effects. Long ago, movies didn't have such a thing, so the actors had to deliver, as there wasn't anything to distract from their acting. I always liked watching "Last of the Mohicans," again and again..it's not a great movie or anything..I loved the music in it, and that Native American actor, Eric Schweig..I love watching him in that film. Also "The New World," as it's just a beautiful film for the most part, and "Dances with Wolves," is really cool..I watch that alot. And "Aliens," I've watched that a number of times.
