U.S. school stay open an average of 6.5 hrs a day for 180 days a year. This is lower than many other industrialized nations. Do you think longer school days are the answer to slumping test scores in the US? Any other suggestions on how to get our kids back on track?

I think adding some time to the school day would be a good idea, but at the same time some of these kids have afterschool jobs and activities to worry about so maybe just in the lower grades where you learn faster anyway would help.
As for the test scores I am a firm beliver that all these standerdised test do is show how well students take test, they don't actually show what they have learned. I feel this way because I use to do so well on test, then I got nervous during one and failed, I have been that way ever since. I think they need to get rid of them and start worrying about what the students actually retain during the class itself.
