Whay would one start to screek and carry on? Mine has and it is so loud! Is it fixable or is a new one needed?

Call a repairman to come check it out.
It just probably needs servicing.
Maybe the belts are getting worn, or a bearing needs lubing.
If it is minor, a repair bill is would be preferable to having to buy a new dryer.
Be sure to get an estimate though.

Maybe something is stuck in the hose somewhere, and it's not getting enough air. Check to see if it's clogged, and then clean out the lint trap.

I presume you are talking about a clothes dryer? Then I would suggest you check the clothes you had in there. Sometimes, it may be the sound from a zipper or some hard point on your clothes.
