We Are Called To Be A Light

In this world around us, there are those less fortunate than ourselves... The homeless, the hungry, the mentally ill, the elderly who are shut-in and never get to leave their homes, etc... And I found my calling in life, to start a foundation, that would build 24 hour feeding and Social Service Resource centers around the country and around the world that would take care of these problems... But we could not do it without YOU. This is the poem that I was given on January 1, 2006, which I sent to The President and the Vice President, via Email, but I only got the typical computer generated responses... But I ask YOU... How can YOU be a LIGHT in someone's LIFE today? Can you buy a homeless person a meal? Can you Give your neighbor with no car a ride to the laundromat and back? C'mon folks, we're all on this journey of life TOGETHER, and it's not easy for ANY of us, no matter HOW MUCH or HOW LITTLE we have... We are all ONE HUMAN FAMILY and we have to STICK TOGETHER and LOVE EACH OTHER, and if we do that... We're gonna be OK!!! :) Now, Here's the poem We Are Called To Be A Light: BY: J. Michael January 1, 2006 From far away they came, seeking refuge from the fight, guided by the hope to find, freedom for their lives. They knew not what awaited them, but hope was shining bright. And in this land that we call home, they found a beautiful sight. They were more than just a nation, they were a family indeed, neighbor helping neighbor just as it was meant to be. But somehow unaware crept in two evil, horrid seeds, and grew inside the hearts of men called "Selfishness" and "Greed". Now it's taken a couple of hundred years, for things to get this awful. But there always are those heroes, who remember what our founders taught us: Feed the hungry, Help the poor, whatever the pain in life. However great the darkness, we are called to be a light. Each of us has a purpose and we are called to be a light. Everywhere we are, we are called to be a light. We are one HUMAN FAMILY and we are called to be a light. When we choose no more denial, and we see how close the night, we will live and die, forever knowing, WE ARE CALLED TO BE A LIGHT!!! Now, if you all would, please think of ways in which you can be a light in the lives of those around you, and share them with us, along with encouraging stories :) Thanks, JM
