I know a little bit of HTML and thats all i know about computer language that will help in building a site. I am really interested in starting a site but no idea till now but i heard people say that these days it is easy to build a site with the help of softwares. I heard that without any knowledge of computer language people build good sites and earn money.
And not only that i heard something about free domain and web hosting :) Is that true. Please help me in getting free softwares for building a site. Thank you all

If you want to build a website then you can do three things. You can get some software to do it for you, but software will only allow you to get so far and you will not be able to customize it the way you would like. You can pay someone to do it for you and keep it up to date, or you can learn it which is the best way.
If you want to create a website especially for a business then you will need to learn some scripting languages (It's not as scary as it sounds). Getting software to do it for you will only get you so far as I said earlier, eventually you will want more control and the software programs just aren't built for this. You will need knowledge of mysql to maintain a database (Not as scary as it seems either).
It takes time to learn things, but it's worth it in the long run. :-P

These days, it is easy to build wesbites with little to know knowledge. There are many programs such as frontpage that can help you get started.
Also, you can get free domains and web hosting. If you want to find out where to get free domains, check out my blog www.quickpayme.com
If you need any other help, just let me know and I will help you out. To get in touch with me, send and email to admin[at]quickpayme.com

Actually I've been researching on this topic for 6+ months. I had sacrificed my studies too for gaining total knowledge on this... Only Healer, you are authorised to ask me about this. First send me a message...then we'll continue our discussion on the topic. I can provide you knowledge about this from novice to expert.
NOTE: Other than Healer, no one else is allowed to discuss with me about this topic.

i want to suggest you to use Microsoft frontpage. It is much easier to build a web design and then you can use it to publish on the Internet but for publishing you have to first register for domain and then you have to buy at least 5 MB of web space which is available on Indiaaccess.com from where i have also bought web space then i launch it. You can watch the web site that i have designed for a college named as www.kbwc-in.org. Plz. watch and keep in mind that it is still under construction. If you have any suggestion you are welcomed.

the best place to start about making a site is www.W3Schools.com
u can learn the languages you need to knw from making a simple html page to complex content driven sites..
best softwares or WYISWYG i wud recommend would be to start with Microsoft Frontpage and move towards Dreamweaver
for free hosting try out, www.sphosting.com and for a free url redirection try out www.dot.tk
this is most of the information that should get you started...
P.S: you could also start using a blog like mine http://myapproach.wordpress.com

Yes there's plenty of free software out there that will help you to build your website - one is NVU it's a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) program - which pretty much means you put your information in and it does all the codes and stuff for you.
As for hosts - again there's plenty of free ones out there - just do a search to find the one that best suits your needs - they all offer different things - from more bandwith to the ability to host blogs and forums etc.
