Do we have any fans of this TV Show out here? I loved watching this show and still enjoy doing so in repeats. They had so many great shows. There are only a couple I really don't care for and considering how long it was on I don't think that's too bad of an average. Do you have a favorite episode or ones you hated? Favorite Character? Why did you like the show? Enquiring minds ant to know :)

I think it's Hallmark as well but I'm not sure. I usually now only find it by chance. I really need to figure it out so I can watch it regurally.

This is one of the few television shows that I didn't liked. Don't ask me why because I really can't tell. I watched 5 or 6 episodes and I didn't find it apeling.

Aww that's a shame but depending on which episodes I can well understand it. There are a few that I didn't care for as well and if you saw the wrong ones then it makes it rough to get into the show.

I love MASH. I loved them when they came out and loved them in rerun. Something about the theme song gives me a warm fuzzy feeling too. Isn't that funny? Not sure why, not like I have great memories of something happening during an episode or anything but the son just does it. So does one of the evening news songs, don't know which. Must bring back childhood memories of days gone by. I was always in love with Radar.... I have this thing for the underdog. LOL

Rizzo - soldier
Dont get me started! I LOVE this show and the original movie and the specials from the TV show. When I was stationed in Europe, AFRTS ran this show ran 3x a day, 7 days a week. That way all shifts could see the show and not miss an episode. Favorite character? Rizzo, the Motor Pool Sargeant played by G. W. Bailey. Did I know 4 or 5 of him, the slick buzzards!I think everyone who was in the military knew each of the characters on MASH in real life. I saw one Klinger in a dress and many naive Radars. A few Hawkeyes in all fields besides medical and one Colonel Potter type, who I am still friends with today and tease him with that moniker still. Of course, being an Army nurse, guess what some dared call me? (NO! NOT HOT LIPS! LOL!) They called me Kellye, the sweet Hawaiian nurse. I was a pushover (at times).

I liked Rizzo as well. He was great. Did you know they originally wanted the character to be from New York? I'm glad he got it changed. He's prefect the way he played him. I liked Kellye. She was so sweet and I loved how she was always there and ready to help.

Sure did :) I've actually seen him in a few things. He's kept himself busy since MASH. He's very good on the Closure. I like the show the Closure but I can't stand Kyra Sedgwick and her phoney accent (it grates on my nerves something awful) so I don't watch it that much.

Did you all know the actor who played Rizzo is in The Closer now on TNT? I didn't recognize him, though, even though the voice sounded familiar. My daughter had to tell me who he was.

How did I miss this discussion? I love the show MASH. It is a classic in my books. I love to watch the reruns. I think my favorite episode was when Hawkeye and Margaret were trapped by enemy fire and she is huddling up close to him and the next thing you know they share a kiss. Those 2 were my favorite characters. But all of the characters and acting was so good in my opinion it is diffucult to choose just one. They all had endearing qualities.

Comrades in Arms was a great episode. It really showed how those two relied on each other more then either of them realized. They might egg each other on but when push came to shove they were there for each other.

My husband loves watching MASH every night. He said that there was a movie before and because it had so much success they made the show. I must say that it's a very funny show. My favorite character in the show is Radar an my husband said that he was the only character from the previous movie. So I like this show because it's funny. And my favorite character is Radar. I never hated any episode.

I love the first episodes best. I'll watch them up to when Henry is to be shipped home. But my favorite is a later episode. It is when the unit "watches" My Darling Clementine. With all the breaks in the movie and what is done during the breaks, it is a classic. My favorite character is Trapper John. He is like a big teddy bear.

Hehe I loved the song they did about wanting to go home while waiting for the movie to restart. That looked like they had a blast in doing.

I just bought the first season and plan to fill in the rest. It is one of the handful of TV shows worth watching over and over. I am impressed by the fact that no matter how many cast changes there were, the quality rarely faltered. It didn't even hurt that as the stories progressed, the show became less irreverent and made some great social commentary. To me, Winchester was every bit as good as Frank, as a character, and far more complex. I also like the way Margaret evolved into a pretty cool lady.

I love MASH although it isn't shown on tv here. I like the character Alan ALda played but I can't think of his name right now, and of course, who didn't love Klinger's zany antics? As a funny side note, my parents were at the theater watching MASH (the movie) when I decided it was time to be born and they had to come home early!

Aww it's not shown there? That's not right. It should be shown everywhere hehe. Klinger was unique that's for sure. What started out as a one time walk on role turned into a lot mor for him. You cut their date short, shame on you and to interupt that movie? You should have known better :)

Oh, absolutely. Klinger, Colonel Potter, and Charles have always been my favorites. I don't have any episodes that I hate, per se. There are some that I feel are superior to others, but I love the show. The reason that I love M*A*S*H*- until seventeen episodes into the first season, they wanted it to be just another comedy, but set in the Korean War. That is, until episode seventeen. Hawkeye had a visitor, one who was set to be a mirror image of Hawkeye. They were busom buddies, reminiscing of times gone by. Then, after Hawkeye's friend leaves, there's a push of wounded. Guess what? Hawkeye discovers that his friend is badly wounded- Hawkeye can't save him. He's overcomed by sorrow and anguish, and talks to Henry Blake outside of the O.R. "Henry, I know why I'm crying. Tommy was my friend and I watched him die and I'm crying. I've watched kids die almost every day, why didn't I ever cry for them?" "Because you're a doctor." "What the hell does that mean?" "I don't know. If I had the answer, I'd be at the Mayo Clinic. Does this place look like the Mayo Clinic? Look, all I know is what they taught me at command school: There are certain rules about a war, and rule number one is that young men die. And rule number two is, doctors can't change rule number one." "Do you believe that?" "I don't know. Do you?" "I don't know, but I know one doctor who can keep one young man from dying in one war." The episode's title, "Sometimes You Hear The Bullet," comes from a line said by Hawkeye's friend Tommy: "I didn't hear the bullet." Episodes like that profoundly affected me. To me, M*A*S*H* injected a shot of the hell and reality of war into every episode, and it was a mature show with the most profound sorrow, and the spirit of laughs, and light in the darkness. To me, M*A*S*H* was not, and is not, just a TV show. It's a beacon pointing to what we as a nation are, and what we are in danger of becoming.

I remember that episode so well. It did get to me. Actually thinking about it I'm a bit misty eyed. There were many that did actually. M*A*S*H* was a powerful show that did far more then just make us leave reality for 30 minutes. It entered our lives and changed us for the better. It gave us insights we wouldn't have had otherwise.

I used to watch M*A*S*H when it was on and now catch it regularly on reruns. It was a great show and still is a great show, the topics they showed were as topical in korea, vietnam, and I am sure today in iraq. It's hard to say what episode was my favorite because I enjoyed when it was Hawkeye and Trapper, and later when BJ came. With Burns and then with Winchester. And with Blake and Potter. And of Course Hotlips. The guest stars added so much with different characters, but it wouldn't be complete without Radar, Klinger, Rizzo, Igor, Ho-Jon. The occasional return of Major Sidney Freedman. It was a great run, it was a great movie, it was a great book. M*A*S*H said so much because it took the horrors of war and brought it home with a bit of humor. Telling the stories of those who were really there.
