My favorite book as a young girl was The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and it is still one of my favorites.
The Little Prince tells about the importance of friendship and real happiness. The book took a simple approach to what really matters most in life. The book teaches about love, friendship and true happiness.
"One only understands the things that one tames," said the fox. "Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy things all ready made at the shops. But there is no shop anywhere where one can buy friendship, and so men have no friends any more. If you want a friend, tame me..."
"Men have forgotten this truth," said the fox. "But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”

yes I remember this book. It seems to be a simple childrens book but in all reality it is a book of deep meaning filled with riddles, philosophy, and poetic metophore. This book should be a mandatory litterature read in our high schools.

yes, you are right. obviously, the author meant it to be a children's book. everyone who come across it though has found it to be such good reading material and kept on passing the word to friends. the values and the lessons that this book contain are all worth considering.

Little prince is still one of my favourite book...I think it is an universal masterpiece that is full of truth and deep thoughts...I think it is of help and instruction for men and women of every age, culture...I think it speaks directly to our heart...to the child that is inside of us and that has got an open heart to feel the world and listen to its sound, magic and significance...I do believe that the essential things are invisible to eyes...I do believe that our really beauty is inside of us and that we have to look at each others in a different way if we want to deeply understand each others, to have a proficous relationship...we need to close our eyes and open it on heart....and heart needs care, gentleness and a pure mind...we need to become younger, to re-discover the pure child that is inside of us and is able to see the elephant hidden under the cap!!!
thanks for letting me speak again of this wonderful masterpiece...thank you very much

I'm trying to remember. Is this the one about the little prince who was lame in one leg? That would travel out of his room via magic? It's been a long time since I've read it if it is. I think I was about 8 at the time but obviously I enjoyed it if I still remember it 30 years later. If it's not that I'm sorry I have it goofed up with another book.

Ok I know which one you mean and nope it's not the one I was thinking off. Oh well maybe I'll remember the other one later. I know I read the other and saw a few specials based off it. It was a good story just been awhile since I've read it.

I absolutely agree with you....I was really curious about the book because some of my teachers said that it was nice so I read it....it's a story that teaches us the reality within us...and with all the people in the world....sometimes we got blinded the real meaning of life and this book simply showed some lessons worth to be remembered...still I want to read the story again...thank u for the web site u gave...

this is a book which is widely read by people from all walks of life, regardless of their ages. evidently, it was meant to be a children's book. now we can see where it has gotten itself to. the author must not have expected this much patronage and reviews to that little book. but since all of us has seen and felt the value of this little book, we are all swept by it, children or not.
