Are you feeling guilty anymore?

I strongly believe that most of us lie, no matter how old we grow. But do you feel guilty when you lie or you say to yourself that it is necessary and that you are right to lie at that point in time, dont take it too seriously and forget the matter.

I must be an exception then since I don't lie.
Lying is tiring and one lie needs another to cover up. Don't lie and you won't need to grapple with the guilt.

I once lied to a very close friend during schooldays on something where I knew the truth might hurt her.It was after 7 years that she asked me about that incident again on phone and I couldn't muster enough courage to tell her the truth thus, trying my best to distract her ,to avoid answering , but she didn't budge and I repeated my lie.It was after a week that I couldn't live with it anymore and called her to blurt it out thinking that would perhaps be the last conversation we'd have for a long time to come if not the last. She called me after 15 days and as we kept talking we could laugh about it.Sometimes we lie to people very close to us so they don't get hurt ,but it might be just as good to come clean .It worked for me that time. Can't say would work for everyone or everything.

I abhor lies very much, so no I do not feel guilty of something that I do not partake in. Sometimes I feel a temptation to lie, and for that I feel a tinge of guilt, thankfully! I think that sting of guilt, or compunction if you will is a great gift and likely what helps any of us to keep from giving in to temptations to sin.
