My ex-fiancee used to sing "Dreams can come true" by Gabrielle to me and it always makes me feel sad as it wasn't so much a dream as a nightmare when I ended it just before the wedding.
The strange thing is that my boyfriend of 7 years bought me "Sunshine" by Gabrielle when we were first together too, that one makes me cry a bit, I'd listened to it and bought it as it made me thin of him, but I'm not a fan by any nmeans, I do not have an album even, lol.

I love Broken Vow so much. I always heard that song during our break up. It was so timely then. I love listening to it while feeling the heartache. I don't know why some people don't like to hear music which they can associate with their heart ache. I did the other way around. I love to listen to the song the more while nursing a broken heart. Somehow, it eased the pain I felt.

Oh my goodness, there are songs I love but I just can't listen to them anymore because of the emotions they bring back. I have a very hard time with the entire CD, Alannis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill. I was going thru a particularly bad and painful breakup when that came out and of course the entire CD is songs about a bad breakup and all the pain that goes along with it. Every time I try to listen to it I either cry or get angry. It's been like 9 yrs ago and it still affects me.
The guys in my band want me to do the song "You Oughta Know" off that CD and so far I just can't get thru the song without crying. I'm going to keep working on it though! Maybe if I practice it enough I'll get past the emotion. Ya think? LOL.

I have a few songs that really stick out in my mind when it comes to thinking of past relationships. A few of them I turn off because I do get a little upset if I hear it the whole way through. But for the most I think about it and if I still like the song, I can listen to it and still enjoy it. For the most part no one can ruin the amnbiance of a song for me! There is alot more that goes along with a song then just memories from one person.

Yes, there's a beautiful song called Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac it reminds me of my first love, I don't get sad but I do get nostalgic at times and it gives me a warm glow inside when I hear the song. Great memories and a great time we had together. You never forget your first love and the song Everywhere always brings it back for me. sighs heavily!

Baby come back, by player. I used to not like that song. Then my girlfriend broke up with me and broke my heart. That song came on one day and I was listening to the words and I heard things like "doing anything just to get you off of my mind," and "trying to forget you is just a waste of time," which was exactly how I felt. All of a sudden, I loved that song. So now, when I hear of it, I think of her, but I don't get sad or anything because I have someone and that was so long ago.

There is only one song that I can think of right now.
It is "When A Man Loves A Woman" ~ my ex-boyfriend was a wacko and abusive. When I finally got the nerve to break up and leave he tried to guilt me all the time by playing this song and crying and going on about how much he loved me and how could I have done this to him . . . blah blah blah. I was finally out and I was NOT going back. Anyway, when I hear that song I always think of him crying and angry at me at the same time.

Two songs remind me of a particular ex - Chumbawumba's "Tub Thumpin" (you know it, right? "I get knocked down, but I get up again, ain't never gonna keep me down! Pissin' the night away, we'll be pissin' the night away") reminds me of the fun times with him and I laugh every time I hear this. The other is Stabbing Westward's "Save Yourself" because he was crazy and I was depressed and we were a very sad pair indeed. For some reason that makes me feel nostalgic.

The only songs that remind me of my ex are the songs recorded in his own language (Kurdish)

Sometimes When We Touch - Dan Hill
You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
On what you say or do?
I'm only just beginning to see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
Romance and all its strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity
Some tenderness survives
I'm just another writer
Still trapped within my truth
A hesitant prize fighter
Still trapped within my youth
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
At times I'd like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through
And hold you endlessly
At times I understand you
And I know how hard you've tried
I've watched while love commands you
And I've watched love pass you by
At times I think we're drifters
Still searching for a friend
A brother or a sister
But then the passion flares again
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
so sweet..........aaaaarrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I missed him....:D:D:D

I think we all have these issues. Some are sad and some just make you sick to hear and say to yourself what was i thinking. I have a little of both. I can hear that song by firehouse (i think is the name of the band) called I'VE FINALLY FOUND THE LOVE OF A LIFETIME and it turns my stomach. But i hear faraway by nickelback and i just want to cry and get nervous hahaha. Oh well i guess its just something to live with or get over i dont know.

80's hair bands remind me of my exhusband....I only get a little nostalgic because it reminds me of when I was younger and in high school, and how fast the time since then has gone.
but I feel angry because it does remind me of a bad time in my life, being a victim of domestic abuse.

I have many songs that remind me of my ex or should I say the time when we were together. It reminds me of the things I did and the people I was friends with. It does not make me feel any anger or hate to my ex because we still get on fine. It reminds me of been young again which is a nice and sad feeling, sad because those days have gone and you can never go back.
