I would like to hear peoples views on the ideas of a Linear ie beginning and end universe started by a beginningless eternal Creator and a Cyclic ie beginningless always existing universe with no prime creator. Is one more or less plausible than the other considering they both deal with the infinite? Which view do you favour?

This is one of the better questions I have seen posted for quite some time. The answer, in so far as the Universe is concerned, is pretty well understood at this point. It is linear, beginning with the Big Bang and ending someday in a rather sad emptiness as a result of entropy. The question becomes interesting if you ask it in regard to time rather than the Universe. Time may very well be circular rather than linear. If it is it opens many interesting possibilities including the possibility that the Universe may not end after all.
