why do we close our eyes when we dream?
why do we close our eyes when we cry?
why do we close our eyes when we wish?
why do we close our eyes when we kiss?
that is because the most beautiful things in life
are unseen...and felt only by the heart.
someone send me this and i like it. taught of sharing them to you and have your comments. of course there are other reasons why, and most of them are not good.

When I read the lines I remember Oprah Winfrey's Show last night. The show featured children who are physically incapacitated, conjoined twins separated, the result was each had one leg, the other one is a boy who was born without eyes and always tight in a wheelchair. In spite of it all he grew very talented and confident. He said in the show, that his blindness will not hinder him from reaching his dreams. That he believes in the inside and not the outside aspect of a person. And that the sight only lets you judge other people like they're black or white and all the adjectives which hinder a normal person from seeing through the most important thing, the inside personality.

Sentimental ... but inaccurate.
We close our eyes when we're dreaming because our eyes close when we sleep ... when most dreams happen. Daydreams are normally while the person is wide awake, and usually while they're doing something else ... with their eyes open.
I honestly don't know anyone who closes their eyes when they cry. You blink to allow the tears to be released by the tear ducts, but you have to open them to release the tears. So that's not quite accurate either. You technically cry with your eyes open, only blinking in the duration.
I don't close my eyes when I make a wish.
The most logical reason for closing your eyes when kissing is to shut off the sense of sight and allow your other sense to take over. Or, because it would be uncomfortable staring at someones skin pores. When it comes to a kiss for a family member, do you really close your eyes? I know I don't. When I give my kids a kiss, or my mother or my dad, I don't close my eyes. Only long drawn out kisses are accompanied by closed eyes ... because of the comfort level more than anything else I would think.
The only activity known, aside from sleeping because our brain is no longer ordering our eyes to stay open while it recharges, where your eyes close automatically is when you sneeze. It's physically impossible to keep your eyes open when you sneeze.
You close with "of course there are other reasons why and most of them are not good" ..... well of course they don't sound as romantic or mushy, but unlike that sentimental bit, they happen to be true.

LOL ... you're two years younger than me, what can you tell me about what I should have learned from life?
Want to know what I have learned? That it's better to appreciate what IS than to make up false information and romanticize something beyond it's limitations. I don't have to follow some false romantic sentiment to appreciate beauty, hope or love. If that's being "too logical", then I'm happy to be it.

Ciniful nice response and thats great not close the eyes when make the wish but I think most of the person close their eyes when making wish, praying near God, while sleeping, while kissing and your logic is great about closing eyes at the time of kissing.

I think most of the times we close our eyes is to protect them.

I think we close our eyes, to feel the moment. Because all these things are heartfelt. To isolate everything around us and linger on what we are thinking or feeling.

Hello d-eagle. I love your discussion. It is so interesting to read words between why we close our eyes. I would like to add some more. We close our eyes when we are appreciating something exciting and wonderful. Take care.
