Should Movies Containing Smoking be R Rated?

There is a big movement on to make the movie industry rate any movie in which there is smoking rated R.
Maybe I am wrong but, I just think this is going to far with sensorship. I could gives a lot of reasons as to why I feel this way but, I would like to hear from others and their thoughts.

Yes movies having scene of smoking should be R rated. Such scene affects the innocent mind of a child who is watching the movy. Even adult also imitates such scene and later on it becomes habit. I do not know why smoking scene is kept in a picture. This must be baned in all countries.
