with regards to respect, madonna did a lot of mistakes in the past but has never been reported to do anything wrong to her daughter , Lourdes. In terms of likeability, I adore madonna, she has managed to reinvent herself every so often and never fails to amaze her fans. We all know that she is a music icon , that pretty much sums it up.

Well, your wording is a little confusing. Respect and like are not the same things at all. I don't like her much, but I have a great deal of respect for her, simply because the woman is an excellent business woman. She managed to stay on top in an industry that throws people out constantly for one bad report. She's been on the top of the charts for more than 20 years, always on the edge with her appearance, reaching young crowds constantly. She's dabbled in the movies just enough to make her name known outside her target media audience. She wrote a book, simply for shock value, when her publicity started to drift off. Regardless of whether I like her or not, I have to respect someone that can stay on top in an industry that enjoys tearing people apart and leaving them in the dust. It's not a coincidence she's one of the highest earning stars in history, it was pure business sense, and she excelled at that.
