Wow, that's high. Yes, it's a form of exercise. I have read in a newspaper that an average sedentary office employee uses an average of 3000 steps a day. I have tried to count my steps in a day and it was around 4000 steps. when i go to the mall during lunchbreak, it will be more. and walking is a very good exercise if you walk around 10,000 steps a day. what more will it be if you climb the stairs!

yea but i think you have to do it a lot. looks like you do since you climb 8 floors to your apartment. i would say it would help a lot in your case. it'll make your legs stronger and your heart work better too.

I dont need to repeat what was said before. I know it helps me out the most. I am pushed harder and I know my heart is being pushed because it beats harder. Ultimately I loose weight and keep it off when I put stairs into my workout.

Yes, they do help in loosing weight because its a best cardiovascular excercise, but if you are really concerned about loosing weight then Straightup your diet do not eat too much sweet or junk food. Try rope climbing as well it is a good cardio excercise as well. The more you do cardio will affect more on your fat and certainly you will loose weight.
Don't afraid to give me a +..... LOL

Yes, it does! Unfortunately, I presently live in a ground floor apartment. But, when I go home, my house is on 2 levels and I can see the weight loss in a week of running up and down after my daughter. If you can do 8 floors, it is great, and you will lose weight over a period of time, but if you want to speed up the weight loss, try to increase your speed very slowly over time. Remember, you should not overdo it, keep it comfortable at the same time push your body just a little bit. Climbing stairs is the best cardiovascular exercise and very easy on the joints.
