If you could get one thing (materail item) back that you lost in you life, what would it be?
I think a lot about a pocket nife I lost when I was in high school. It was special to me becasue it was something my dad had bought for me. I wish I could have it back.

First of all.. I'd give you two pluses if I could tonite simply for at least answering your own question. I've seen so many posts tonite from people (mostly those with under 100 posts) who just post a discussion topic and don't even bother to state their postition on it. It's driving me batty. I won't even bother answering those kind and it's been hard finding a discussion worth answering tonite. If I'm in a pissy mood, I'll even open up those discussions and rate them - just too make me feel better.
And to answer your question:
I know this is going to sound so lame but it's actually a teddy bear. My dad has pictures of me in my crib with it still. He ended up being named "freddy" because that's how I said it. Through everything I went through, that teddy bear was with me. In the end you couldn't even see any of the original bear he'd been patched up so many times. I can remember to this day the last time I saw it. Believe it or not I was 21! I put him in a box when I packed up a box to move out of town. I was moving with just a small truck. I left that box and a couple others with a friend of mine, he was taking over my apartment when I left. I was going to send for my boxes when I was settled into my new place. But he managed to get himself evicted from the apartment and left behind all of his stuff and mine when he skipped town. By the time I heard anything about it and contacted the landlord, he'd already cleaned the place out and taken everything to the dump. The only thing I cried over losing was that bear. Even now just typing this I'm getting teary and I haven't even thought of the bear since the night my youngest daughter was born.

I'm about in tears with you. I'm so sorry that happened. But I think it teaches us the lesson that the things of this world are not permante.
Thanks for the great response!

i want to have my money back, at least $17,000 that i lost to game betting in a week 4 years ago. that would have helped me a lot in my financial state today. i don't know if you can consider that something lost, but for me, it is. i don't really think i have lost a material thing that i want to get back except that. don't really keep thinking of things i loose.
