Dont u think Irfan Pathan should open the bowling attack,with the swing he gets?

No, he should not open is WC.

in westindies the pitches will be same as we have in india.ball will not swing as much as u r expecting.he dont hane the pace to threaten the bowlers.hence in my view he should not play.zaheer and munaf patel should open the bowling for india and ajit agarkar should come as the first change.

I think Opening the bowling with Pathan would have been a good move had pathan be bowling at his best not when he is totally out of form like he is nowadays. Moreover Pathan will have to get his form back in the two warmup games before world cup starts and if he finds form then only he should included in playing elven let along open bowling for india. As we don't want him to be smashed all over park in opening overs like what hayden did to zaheer and we were forced to go on the defensive from there on. zaheer and agarkar are doing well opening the attack with munaf & sreesanth one change. But yes pathan as allrounder would be useful for the team but if only he is at his best.

to b very practical i dont think he should open the bowling...he has lost lots of pace and is not in any sort of form....but i want to say that being the best allrounder of india i definitely think he should b in 11....y not try bowling him in middle overs....agree he wont get the swing but may b useful!!!and with his batting he just may prove to b useful yet again!!!

No, Pathan should not open the bowling because of the speeds at which he bowls. If he doesn't get swing, then he can be hit for a plenty with the hard new ball and then it becomes difficult for the rest of the team to win the game after getting demoralized in the opening.

ya I think so.. he is a bowler who can swing the ball both ways ... also the west indies pitches do support such kind of bowlers I suppose hence it will be good act to put him in the front

I am thankfull to the board that they have kept Pathan in the world cup members as we really need an all rounder. I think that Irfan should not be used as an opener baller but would work better if he is used as an first change. And he would also can be utilise on last few overs as he has a good experience.

first of all my thanks to the selection commitee to grand pathan a ticket and I do believe he will come into his prime form which I and you would be likes to watch.But i have no hopes for him to open the bowling attack with saheer unless he delivers that kind of seam he gave in Australia.I hopes he will do that and will become the important factor to shine in the world cup.
