Is there any proper substitute for concrete?

Concrete is used for house consruction in large scale.But it heats quickly and radiate lot of energy to the sorroundings and inturn makes inside of the house more hotter.It takes lot of time to cool and preserves the hot condition inside the room for a longer period.Is there any alternative to concrete,which suits our climatic condition.

I think we can use wood....but gr8 techniques required for that....one more thing i want to say we can also use soil...means in villages I hv seen so many houses prepared by soil but it require every year to be repaired...but really its very nice living in the soil houses

You are right, but in my place cost of wood is so high due to mass cutting of forests, we go for concrete only Prof.Dr. B.Saraf. PhD
