In the final yesterday Wenger made a statement by playing his younger team instead of choosing older and more experienced players. With hindsight we could say that experienced was needed in this important match.
Do you think Wenger was right in his decision?

I feel that Arsene was right to stick with the youngsters who brought the team to the finals in the first place. With youngsters like Walcott, Denilson and Diaby the average age of the midfield was around 19 and they gave the experienced campaigners of Chelsea a run for the money.
Carling Cup, anyhow does not rank too high in the trophy stakes, hence Wenger was right to stick to them and hopefully this experience would stand them in good stead to mount a serious challenge on Chelsea and Man U next year.
Cheers!

Let the young guys play as well. If they are good enough to be on the team but happen to be 19 years old. Then why not. But it would have been nice to have won.

it has been wenger's policy to field youngsters in league cup. it is the only chance for them to show their worth while picking up big match experience.
the only problem for arsenal youngsters is patient. despite their age (and current first team squad), they want to be included into the first team. they don't want to wait.
that's why we lost pennant, sidwell, stuart taylor, bentley (to name a few) which is now playing well with their new club.
yes, we have a very bright future but are they willing to stay?

Yes, he made the right decision. I'm a chelsea fan. The young fellas has been playing since the carling cup started this season and they were wonderful. See how they out played Liverpool and Spurs, they really deserved to play the finals. What made the difference was that they were inexperienced and that cost them the cup. They are strong, fast and organized but got no experienced, that was why droga being an experienced player made the difference.

i think they should played in the final... but i think wenger just wanna be fair to these young guys which leads aresnal to the final in the carling cup not those senior players and i guess he wants the senior players to focus on the fa cup and the uefa champions....

wenger was partly right....he oughta give the chance to the young players...but atleast henry should have been in the team...else someone experinced enough to guide the team better...but their show was very good in the finals.

arsenal was sticking with youth against chelsea but they're defeated.the french coach selected almost the reserves and he could almost win but the discounting influence of drogba ,whose double strike was amasing, sent off the youth gunners in the added time.
despite many absences ,Wenger was pleased that his tyros had shown their ability against a strong chelsea selection.
