Memories from when You were Young.

Lately I've been thinking about what things I will miss from my youth when I'm older. I'm only 23 but I thought that in 20 years time, my life will be completely different and i won't be doing the same things I do now. For example going out will be a luxury for me because I hope to have children in the next few years, and I'm not expecting to have much of a social life once they come along. Also, the band I love to see play 'The Red Paintings' will probably not be performing anymore (fingers crossed they still are!) so I won't be able to see them play. My friends and i probably won't be able to just call each other up and go on a road trip down the coast on just half an hour's notice..etc. So I'm thinking that I should really savour the things I love now and realise that it won't be here for me to enjoy forever.
Is there something from your younger days that you really miss and wish to experience again?

ill be 19 on wednesday, and its kinda crazy that im already almost in my 20s. i still do the same things i did as a kid though, but the few things i do miss from when i was a kid are:
-cartoons on saturday morning (one saturday morning on ABC)
-TGIF with family matters, full house, etc.
-real rock music, like third eye blind, the wallflowers, matchbox 20, etc.
-green day was still green day
-good video games, like super nintendo/nintendo 64
-skateboarding good, which i cant do anymore lol
-good nickelodeon shows!
those are just a few, but it sucks to write that stuff out!
if your bored and you want to check out tv shows/commercials that used to be on in the 70s/80s/90s, check out this website: http://www.retrojunk.com. they seriously have everything there, its awesome!!

I remember when I was a few months old. What the wallpaper looked like, my crib, the floor tiles, people holding me I didn't like, watching my Dad tie his boots, funny dreams I had. There aren't any pictures and my parents confirmed my memories (except the dreams!) A lot of people remember really young. And a lot of people don't really

There were lots of happy moments when I was young. My buddies and I always run freely on the grassland a quarter mile from my home after school. We tried the wild fruits from the plants at our finger tips. Sometimes we caught tadpoles and took them home. We put the tadpoles in a container and kept them alive. We watch them developed into frogs. These are the moments I miss very much now. When one grows older, he is gonna have responsibilities to shoulder, there is no turning back for the happy times when he is a boy.

I think that everyone would like to recapture their youth. I cannot think of anything in particular, I am 47 and I think at around the age of 25 my life just seemed to fly. I remember as a kid thinking about how long a year was now it is like it goes by at a blink of an eye. I remember my parents always saying this to me and I thought they didn't know what they were talking about .NOW I SEE!

What I really miss is how things seemed to be a lot simpler when I was young. No need to worry about adult stuff that we now deem important. Just being a kid innoncently living life, playing under the sun with friends. No worries.

The only thing i truly reminisce over from my youth is youth itself...I remember days when i was scared of 'the monster under the bed'. Now i am scared of the real monsters -financial security, the health and well-being of my son's, the loss of my father and the up-coming loss of my mother, the dire state of the world, healing from a brain tumor and fearing it's return (the biggest monster i have ever looked in the face, yet), fighting depression and anxiety because of all these things and then some...I miss the simple life of my youth. I miss the days when i wasn't bitter, tainted, or biased. I miss a world that seemed so possible and everything that was apparently so attainable. I miss feeling invincible and free..The nights when my dad would come into my room and check under my bed, and there were no monsters allowed there..Now, the monsters are everywhere, and being told to 'Go away!' no longer works it's magic~

I would like to have more time watching my kids grow up, spending time with them, playing with them and doing more with them.

Almost 40 and I have stopped hankering for the yesterday year. I am who I am and I have regrets of course but I do not wish to be back in those days when I was 23, or 33 even.
Live for today and who knows what to morrow will bring. If we are still chatting in ten years time on mylot :D and I will be almost 50! I wonder if we will remember or find this conversation.
We are moving so fast into the future, technology is expanding and who knows we could be sitting in a virtual cafe sipping coffee from our own homes, surrounded by all the people from mylot in a virtual world. ! I might even get to see your kids, or at least the virtual imagery of them! We may have virtual worlds, Universes and end up with virtual pets and pot plants.
Books and paper might be a thing of the past, lets hope our ecosystem can survive our hunger for technology. The Red Paintings might be in your Living Room! :D virtually of course!

I would like my parents to pay for everything again and for me not to worry about bills--- that would be nice :). But as far as things I want to do, I do what I want when I want to. So should you! You shouldn't deprive yourself of things when you have kids.... You should find new fun things to do with them!

hi coffeeshot!!! We're of the same age and I can say that I miss a lot of memories when I was young. The minute I turned 20, everything happened so fast to me... in a wink of an eye I just got pregnant and got married! Luckily I married the guy that truly love and I don't really have regrets getting married young and unprepared. Although it sometimes make me think that it's harder this time because you have to think and work hard for the finances. Unlike before when I was young I'd just ask for money and splurge on anything I want. I miss the days that I just hang out with friends not caring about what time it is and what day it is exactly. I go home only if I want to and I date as often as I can. But even if I miss being so carefree and careless... I still like the fact that now I know where my life leads and I will always opt to do the same thing if I had to live my life again. Hitting this age, married and expecting a baby doesn't mean that's the end of it. I know I can still enjoy life with my family... travel and shop but of course not with my friends but with my hubby and baby. But still... young days are so fun to cherish! It makes you laugh especially when you remember all the stupid things you've done as a kid! Live with the moment and cherish the memories... it keeps you young looking!

hello...I've been thinking of like that too..well, the tings that i would really miss back when I was a little younger (lol) are the adventures that me and my buddies do...you know, we go to the beach at weekends, we play basketball, we ride motorbikes just for strooling...I'll be really missing those..

I am 33, married and don't have kids yet. and what I miss...
From my 20s, being in college, you are not really held accountable for much. You have to pay your rent and scrape for food, but life was pretty easy. No mortgage payments, no big piles of bills, no boss requiring your presence everyday.
I also miss that 10 years ago, things were MUCH easier. Gas was cheaper, not as many people were being laid off or unemployed, housing was cheaper. Life was an allusion in my 20s... I had a new car, I bought my first house when I was 24, I went out with my friends all the time.
What I miss as I am getting older is just my body. I am still athletic, but as I get older, I am losing flexibility, I have joint problems, etc. That's just going to get worse. I was a machine in my 20s, I could do anything, and now my knees kill me, or my back hurts... nothing chronic, but enough to know that my heyday as an athlete is over.

Oh well.. Good and old times, to be honest i feel sad everytime i remember my old times when i was a little kid and i used to have so much fun... I think good times are those when everything is more easy to you and you were younger and it was so good... i really enjoy my life at the moment but i will never forgive those momments when i used to be 5-10 years old...
I really think almost everyone has feelings like this...
Oh good times.. that will never be back..

'yeh daulat bhi le lo yeh shohrat bhi le lo ; magar mujhko lauta do woh bachpan ki yaadein;woh kagaz ki kashti, woh baarish ka pani' . these are the words of ghazal sang by jagjit singh which means, take my all earnings and fam ,in lieu of it return my childhood memories , the boat made of paper and the flowing water after rain. this is very common playful activity seen in chilren in our country i. e. playing in rainwater. thats all i want to say.
