How do you treat poeople you don't have to be nice to?

I have always thought how you treat people you don't have to be nice to speaks volumes about your character. What do you all think. For instance, How do you treat, your cab driver, bus driver, empolyees, mail man. If you treat people who are preforming a service with disdain, or rudness, what kind of person does that make you. If there is no reason for you to be nice to someone, like your waiter, becaseu they are working to please you, in my opinion reflects directly on the kind of person you are at heart. What say you?
