There are some questions which I had
always wanted to get it out...
I always believe that Religion and
Spirituality are not the same.
Here are My Questions:
1. Is it possible for a person to be
religious and yet not spiritual?
If so, name them...
And
2. Is it possible for a person to be
spiritual and yet not religious?
If so, name them...
3. Of the above, which should you think
should be the path for salvation?
hmmm.....
Yours,
William

Relgion is man believing he can do anything to save himself; legalism; the traditions of man. Believing that all you have to do to be saved is to be "good enough."
Spirituality is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, knowing that we all fall short but that he loves us anyway. Trying our best to follow the path he marked out for us. This is the path to Salvation.
I believe that there will be a lot of so-called "Christians" who are going to find themselves in a very fiery place at the end of time and wonder how they got there!

I think that there is a difference between spirituality and religion. I think that it is possible for a person to be spirtual and not religious or vice versa. I also think that it is possible for a person to be both. My personal view on the subject is that religion refers more to organized religion and something that a person adheres to, follows, fellowships in, etc. I think that spirituality can either be connected to one's religion, or it can be more general, in terms of meditation, nature, forces of energy, etc. I do believe that spirituality and religion are closely connected and that many people's spiritual beliefs stem from their religious beliefs.

Hi bro!
Yes, I believe religion and spirituality are not the same too!
To answer your questions:
1. Yes, religious people can be non-spiritual. Just look at those who kill in the name of religion, who belittle others who don't share their faith, who discriminate against others, who flame others on myLot just because they don't agree.... Are all those holy men who molest young boys spiritual? Certainly not!
2. Yes, it is possible to be spiritual without being religious! The 2 biggest philanthropists, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, have pledged the bulk of their fortunes to help make the world a better place. Both of them are atheists, by the way.
3. Spirituality should be the path to salvation, I believe. A lot about religion is man-made. As the Latin saying goes, "Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura" - by faith, or by scripture. I think faith should take primacy....
Cheers!
