how far in advance can i make royal icing roses?

i want to make royal icing roses for my wedding cake. do they last indefinitely or not? how far in advance can i start making the roses?

Royal icing decorations will last indefinitely as long as they are not exposed to humidity and condensation. If humidity is inevitable, prepare royal icing with pure confectioners' sugar, add less liquid and add 1 extra teaspoon of meringue powder to the recipe.
