How do you spot a real job online from a con

Can anyone help, all I need is a job I can do online. I do not want to make thousands just enough to live on.
I would like to do something like data enrty.
But every site I come across is always pay for first.
I wouldnt mind but they say non refunable
Can anyone offer any advice.

Normally, I look to see if they want some money up front. I am very leery of companies that ask for that. Also, I look for the ones seem too good to be true because they usually aren't true.
I would steer clear of anyone that is asking for money up front. Nevertheless, if you want to be a dare devil :-) I would apply to one that is asking for a very small down payment - nothing over $30. Then I would see if you could mail in a money order. This way, if you do get taken for your money (1) it is only a small amount and (2) they have no way of taking you for more because they don't have your credit card information nor your bank information.
There are different sites online that you can make money from like mylot. They may require you to take a survey, view emails or play games and they don't ask for $$ up front like Treasure trooper : http://www.treasuretrooper.com/234583
