best response can be deleted?

I have a question. I only have one best response up to now, at least two weeks ago, when I last checked my mylot account. So, now I am back, I realised my "best responses" page is empty. I checked the question in which I gave that best response. My answer is still there, but in the discussion it is shown that "User has not selected a best response". How is this possible? Can the person that first posted the question change his mind? Or what else could have happen

The other day for what ever reason the mylot system had a glitch. I lost 2 best responses and received 3 of my resolved discussions back in my unresolved. One was pretty easy to remember as I had posted why I chose that response from so many good ones. The other 2 I had to read through all of my responses again and try to remember which one I picked. I have no idea if I picked the same or not. I sent an email to mylot when this happened and posted a discussion about it but haven't heard back from mylot on what went wrong, nor has anyone else. I'm sorry that you lost your best response. Hopefully the person will choose you again. :)

Well, I shouldn't complain, I guess, these things happen, but it was my only one best response :):):) Thanks for your answer

I can make guesses, but I don't know for sure. It's possible the discussion got deleted for violating TOS. Or perhaps the poster got deleted. If either of those happened, your post would go with it. Like I said, I really am just guessing.

Thanks for your answer. No, the discussion is still there, my response still in it and the poster still posting. That's why I cannot understand what happened

No, you can't delete a best response once it is given. I'm guessing it was just some glitch in the system. I had a best response in a discussion and then I looked again and it had been given to someone else but the strange thing is that person hadn't even posted in that discussion.

I believe it was a glitch also as the option is not available to us to change our minds. I am sure you will get more. I do remember my first and it was a great feeling. But the longer you are here the more you will get, so do not give up.

I saw a discussion about this by someone with the ones she picked now gone. Maybe she had one of yours. I think now That I would go back to them and tell that you have lost the best response. Here is a link to her thread. She has pm to mylot and will post what they say when she gets a reply from them. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/864778.aspx

I dont think a user can delete a best response and give best response for another answer. I am not quite sure about what went wrong. That is bad luck indeed and it never happened to me.

Indeed, I don't thing mylot gives such an option. Probably something went wrong on the system. Thanks for your answer

I agree with you. I know I used to have 5 best response but the last time I checked it...they were down to 3. How did it happen? I don't know! I don't think a user can delete his/her best response. When I checked the discussion again, it's till there and there's not best response...it used to be me, huhu!
