I tried all versions. My own opinion on Vista is worthless and useless its just another version of xp with more themes visual graphics etc... as i recall uses much of the system ram u need atleast 512gb of ram, however if u want it to work smoothly u need atleast a dual core or p4 system,128mb video,1GB of ram.As i work in the field IT/security in canada the company i work for found it useless and stayed on win xp sp2 with the lastest security updates and bug fixes. But ofcourse you should give it a try alot of my friends love it everyone has their own prefernces on things, iwas just discussing my point of view of the operating system vista so give it a try :)

I would never us a copycat product. If you want to know what I mean then you should see this video
http://www.shareaflick.net/3129-Windows-Vista-did-not-steal-ideas-from-Mac-OS-X!.html
Anyway all of microsoft products always have bugs, security holes and even compatibility issues.

this is not a very good video all the programs that they claim windows copied are very high demand program and almost anyone who was creating an os would include while i relize you ma feel like vista has copied mac x you should rely just be saying vista has takin longer to add features an idiot could have thought of so slow in development i will give you but copying i would need more proof

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA.
Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

I'd like to try it but I am going to wait until all the teething problems are sorted out From what I have read there are bound to be problems with it being a new system. If I had the spare money then I would keep this pc as it is and get a 2nd with vista but the funds can't stretch that far at the moment. Maybe if I work hard here I might be able to treat myself.
