You know, lately this has been a huge issue. We are accused of being child abusers if we spank our kids and try to dicipline them. If we don't touch them and just take away privledges they don't have the fear of "the father" in them like we did when we were young. I knew better than to 'talk back' scowl, yell at my parents, it was yes sir, no sir. When I was asked to do something, I just did it! No complaining. The laws re: spanking were set to protect step kids against the abusive step parents that seem to be increasing in number. However, a step father raises a child from the age of 1 year and he cannot spank? My 11 year old is a brat, a brat, all he has to do is dial 911 and police are here in a heartbeat scolding me because I TRIED to spank my son.. he fights me all the way too! Every bad behavior should always be nipped in the bud asap, Parenting is tough in every way too!

it is really a serious problem.Children below 18 can avoid punishment of law for what they do.It is unfair for the victims. people should be responsible for what they do.if the juvenile criminals can not take the responsiblity for what they do, they parents should.

According to me they should not be given a severe punishment but should be punished.
those below 12yrs should not be punished and any crime commited by them should be neglected.
