Crashing a car

I had to respond to this because it reminded me of a terrible, funny episode in my life. I was dating a guy who was trying to teach me to drive - I was 28 and had never learned. I was doing pretty good, he had even started teaching me highway driving. Well, one rainy night, there was a lot of construction and traffic on the expressway, I was driving along slowly and confidently. This guy decides he is going to go around traffic by driving in the lane that had been closed for construction. He ran out of road and tried to cut in front of the guy in front of me. He slammed on his brakes, I slammed on mine and we were fine for about 1.2 nanoseconds until the guy behind me hit me and knocked me into the guy in front of me. It ended up being a 5 car smash-up, no major injuries but the front and rear - ends of my boyfriend's car were heavily damaged. How damaged? Well, for me, it turned into some pretty heavy damage because I found out it was his OTHER girlfriend's car that he was letting me drive! By the way, I never have learned to drive!

I had a crash about 6 years ago. That was my first, and hopefully my last. I crashed into a small truck carrying cooking gas tanks! The truck was OK, no damage done. But my car? The whole front of my passenger car was 'gone' just like that! My insurance paid for the damage .... more than 5k.
