Do the name we give our kids can change their character or does it mean nothing?like one of my friends said that if you call your son Micheal,he is more likely to be great like micheal jordan or micheal jackson.

Depending on who you ask, there may be a LOT in your name. People who are into numerology will tell you that your name is tied into fate and the outcome of your life. There's a group in Vancouver BC known as the Kabalarians (see http://www.kabalarians.com ) whose entire philosophy revolves around the way your name influences your life, health, and so forth. They offer a brief "name analysis" for free, and you can also buy an "in-depth" report for about $10, as I recall.

I think the name reflects far less of a child than how they are raised and the values that are imparted to them by the parents, including integrity, compassion, patience, the ability to make decisions and be self-sufficient, law-abiding, productive, contributing members of society.

I don't believe the name we give our children does anything to help form there character unless someone who gives there child a horrible name that will cause them to be picked on it school , this may cause them to have poor self esteen but in general I don't think that a name means more then what the parents liked for their children .

It couldn't or shouldn't change their character that drastically, but maybe having the same name as a person they admire may be inspiring and help them change. However, they could change if they don't like their name, like shy away from social situations. If they do like their name, they'll be a bit more outgoing.
