This is something that has always peaved me and today the subject arose amoungst friends so i decided to vent on here... Are you tired of being put into a class? i.e 'first class'.. 'second class'.. 'sorry-you-dont-have-enough-money-to-matter class' A couple of friends of mine were saying how they'd love to fly first class, cause of the 'nicer' service, the extra room and added extra 'freebies'... this immediately irritated me, i believe if a company is offering a public service then the service should be the same good standard of service for everyone, i can't believe that people are prepaired to pay for a service to be nicer to them!!!! "Pay us more and we'll be kinder to you" what a joke and what a bigger joke that members of the public fall for this scam.. and the freebies.. they are NOT freebies... you are paying the extra ticket price for these extras!!!! Another point i havein this rant is that in this day and age with the threat to our atmosphere, shouldn't we be looking at making transport more ecconomical to keep emmissions low... by doing things like regulating the legspace throughout the vehicle for more seating, more passengers and less waste, having less staff on board to tend to the 'wealthy'??? I personally hate being made to look i'm less than someone else because my bank account holds less than them!!!

It is a bad fact of life and I agree with you that changes should be made, but I don't thin kthat will happen. Look at how the "rich" can get away with practically anything. Robert Downey Jr allowed to film a movie while in rehab, OJ Simpson and his "trial" and lack of conviction, etc etc. The rich get many many perks that us "average" people just won't ever get.

I agree. It is stupid that one has to pay for a better level of service when in fact, to be "served" should equate to be "served well"! No one should be made to feel lesser because of the number of digits in their bank balance! It's a sad truth in our world however, that those with the extra money (cash to burn) get special concessions, and also sometimes real freebies when they can literally afford anything they want...that's the stupid irony of that. And I am talking real freebies here, free stuff rich people get just for being who they are: rich - unlike the fake freebies that first class passengers get, and think they're getting real freebies. The only way first class passengers can truly say they got a freebie is if they didn't pay for their ticket, and even in that instance SOMEBODY paid the price (or paid the piper! lol) so nothing they get from that could be counted as a real freebie...they are delusional who think otherwise! But maybe you and I are the crazy ones? lol I don't think so but maybe others will.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it with all my being. I am so tired of being ignored, discriminated against, and kept down because I was born into a working-class family. And because that's where I was born, that's where I will most likely be classified for the rest of my life. I'm tired of being second-rate because I'm lower class. And I'm tired of rich people wasting so many resources that could be used to help someone.
And you make a really good point about environmental issues- we should definitely make air travel (and car travel) more economical and less wasteful. I mean, look at the HUGE SUV's that people drive around as status symbols. It's disgusting how much toxic waste those things emit.
