My kids and their attitude

I love my kids to death, but lately thier attitudes have been really bad. My daughter has been after my husband and I for anew car which I know she needs really bad because her other one doesn't like to start and is falling apart. My son wont do any of the house chores and is just becon=ming lazy. I don't know what to do. I know they love me I just wish they would show it a little more. How do I get my son to be not so lazy? How can I help my daughter?
