Immigration In America

What do you think America should do about the immigration issues facing her? Should we build a wall between the United States and Mexico? If so, why? A lot of people say it's because terrorists might come through Mexico. It's a little known fact (at least in the circles in which I run), but all 19 terrorists who took part in 9/11 came through Canada, LEGALLY. Should this be used as justification for stricter immigration laws and penalties for breaking those laws? What do you think we should do about all the illegal aliens in America? What's your opinion on the issue?

First let me say that I am not against legal immigration. After all every U.S. Citizen can trace our roots back to immigrants unless we are pure blood Native American. However, that said, I am against illegal immigration. But, no I don't think building a fence is is the answer nor do I think we need stricter immigration laws. I think that we need to STRICTLY ENFORCE the laws and penalities that we now have.

Yeah, I agree too. I mean, the coddling that illegal immigrants get is an insult to legal immingrants. It's expensive and time consuming to immigrate legally; people shouldn't be allowed to get around the system just because they can cross the Rio Grande at night.

I think there need to be harsher laws about immigration. Its not like America isnt allready being overcrowded, and we have alot of illeagle immigrents coming here all the time which is making everyones lives harder. I havent heard of how other countrys have issues with people immigrating illeagly and causing problems like america does. Something needs to be done. Maybe not a wall at the border, but it does need patrolling gaurds or something.

But we do have patrolling guards. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they have been doubled. So, what do you suggest we do now, if not build an actual wall or fence or something?

I honestly believe that no matter what is done there will always be a way for people to get around it and enter into the U.S. illegally. As far as the terrorists... they ususally do enter legally and have no problem entering, but people who sincerely want and need their loved ones here have to go through this vigorous process.
