We just use herbs and not the processed herbal medicine being peddled almost everywhere here in our place as we are near the market. The problem with just using these is that we do not know the right quantity to be used and what are they really for. They might be creating another ailment while curing something.

I agree with you. You never know what you are really getting with the pre-made stuff. Also there may be ingredients that you really don't need or want.
The best way to do it is go to the source.

I have some herbal plants and I have tried pito-pito and perhaps there is an effect. In fact, whatever we take in I think has an effect, we just couldn't specify for so many that we eat. I couldn't pinpoint too what effect did I get from pito-pito. At least this is not poison as I am still alive now. I don't still subscribe to using herbal medicine now. Besides, the preparation is hard and we also don't know the right quantity whereas if we buy the medicines already, we are sure that they have been tested before they go to the market.

I do, I do, I do!
I started a couple of years ago. I have been looking into going to school for it, but the programs that I have found are soo expensive.
I currently use herbs in my teas to curtail common ailments like allergies, insomnia, pms, etc.
I have had the most success with the allergies by using nettle in my teas. My boyfriend calls them my witches brews, but no one that I have given them too has ever complained:)

I only use herbal remedies and eat very well... The only vice i really have is that I smoke, which I plan on quitting very very soon, and I am never sick, have absolutely nothing wrong physically or mentally (hope so anyway!! :) with me at all.
