The best part about long-distance relationships...

Is that you really do value the time you spend with that other person when you get to see them. So many people who are with their boyfriend/girlfriend every day take this for granted. I was in a long-distance relationship for over six months, and though it was really hard (and expensive - plane flights), I've never felt as much joy as the times I saw my girlfriend after a long absence. Now that I get to see her almost every day, I try to remember those times and make the most of our time together. Not that it always works, but it helps.

That is so nice. Congrats on your relationship and making it this far. I was in a long distance relationship that didn't work out and I know how much trust it takes to make it work. There are many obstacles and difficulties. Good luck to you and your girlfriend.

Thanks! I'm sorry your didn't work out, that is probably how it ends for most people.

I was in one, too, although the one time we were going to meet it fell through and we fell apart. We dated like that for 9 months. My head was plastered to the phone, my webcam overheated, and I think I developed carpel tunnel. The one thing I realize now is that living with someone everyday is a lot harder than being able to live your life with love somewhere else. It hurts, but it doesn't. Ya know?
