There are 2 recipes that I am looking for but I can't remember what they were called so I can't really do a search. My mom used to make them all the time when I was a kid. She is kind of senile now and she can't remember them either. The first was made with hamburger and a bunch of other stuff. She put it in a pie pan and topped it with I think tomato paste and strips of cheese and then put it in the oven. It was so good. The second recipe I am looking for is for something like hamburgers but it was made with tuna fish. I can't remember anything she put in them but they were good also. I'm getting bored with the same old stuff so I thought it would be nice to try something different for a change and those things popped into my head. How I wish I would have written them down when my mom still had the recipe. If anyone has the recipe or even knows the names of these things, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Baked Tamale Pie - Tamale Pie
One of my favorite recipe sites is www.tasteofhome.com, they have great recipies and pictures. I also have a favorite recipe of my family that you might enjoy, that is real easy to make and very tasty. Baked Tamale Pie 1 pound ground hamburger meat 1 onion, chopped 1 can corn 1 can tomato soup 2 tbsp chili powder 1 tsp cumin 1 cornbread mix 1/2 cup of chedder cheese Brown hamburger meat with onion, drain off excess fat. Add the next 3 items, heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour into a 13 x 9 pan that is sprayed with non-stick coating spray. Sprinkle cheese on top of hamburger mixture. Pour cornbread mixture over the entire top of the hamburger mixture. Bake at 400 for 18-20 minutes or until cornbread is done, immediately sprinkle cheese on top, cut into wedges. Enjoy~!

Hi, my mum used to make a tuna fish patty that sounds a bit like what you mention. She would use a can of tuna fish, lots of mashed potato, egg and cheese. Mix it all together and then fry in a frypan until golden. You can also add sweet corn for extra flavour.

You really did not give me much information to go on but I use a site called recipezaar and you can put in the ingredient and it will pull up all the recipes with that ingredient in it. Since I am not really sure what you want, I thought this may be a great place for you to start. I put in "tuna" and here are the results of that search. I hope you find what you are looking for. http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes/tuna When you want to do the hamburger one just do the same thing. good luck.

I see that our first response was just about what I was going to suggest but ...there is also a sheprads oue made all most the same way but you use golden mushroom soup and layer mashed potaoes and the hamburger and then a layer of corn ...and just making layers then top with cheese and bake ... I have also made it and addeda touch of franks hot sauce to spice it up a little ... Youe second one sounds like salmon patties ...take canned salmon add bread crumbs and lightly bread it using bread crumbs and pan fry in in very little grease ... i have always had mine served with corn meal gravy ... but I have seen them used like burgers too ...hope you find what you are looking for ...

The first one sounds like cheese pizza to me. Did it have a crust? 'Cause my dad makes homeade pizza with hamburger meat and cheese and a ton of pepporonis (man, this is making me hungry). The second one sounds almost like a tuna fish salad sandwich. Does it have tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, relish, pickles, and a ton of other stuff in it? My stepmom loves to make that (even though I don't really like it lol).

I can't think what these recipes would be? But I really like the idea of one one with hambuger, cheese and tomato paste. There has to be something else in it, maybe slices of bread, or cooked rice?If you figure it out, could you send me this recipe? I wouldn't be keen on the one with tuna.

Sorry I dont know and can imagine of what it is like. But if you are bored with the same old things, perhaps you would like to try this with your hamburgers. What you will need. A pocketed pita bread Hamburgers of course. Mayonaisse Lettuce Tomato or Chilli Sauce if you can take hot stuff Grated Cheese (any kind up to your taste) What you need to do: Fried or grill the hamburgers meanwhile cut the pita into half and spread a mayo inside. Cut the hamburgers into small pieces and Slice the lettuce mix them with tomato or chilli sauce. You can also throw in the mixture the grated cheese or you can top it up after stuffing them into pita bread. Stuff the mixed ingredients into the pocketed pita bread which had already been spread with mayo. Try that, it will taste like kebab.

Do you remember any of the "bunch of other stuff"? Vegetables? Pasta? Was it spicy? Chunky? Soupy? Anything you remember would be extremely helpful even you think it's insignificant. I have no idea about the tuna fish one. The only thing we ever did with tuna fish was put it in a casserole or mix it with mayo for sandwiches.
