Some people find quotations to be the lowest form of discussion, a way for someone with no opinion of their own to sound eloquent. I disagree, a quote can be a powerful thing. The way I look at it a quote is basically the output of a system, the system being the man who spoke the words, and the input being the experiences and the lifetime of learning that man had. It is basically a condensed nugget of understanding that can only come from the acquired wisdom of a full life. This is hardly a replacement for a personal quest for ones own ideology and understanding, but they can be a very real and powerful guide post when it comes to developing that personal perspective and shouldn’t be trivialized. A good quote can really illuminate an idea that you've had for a long time and help you explore the nature of it.
That being said, Id like to make a thread for people to post their favorite quotes, and quoteable people. Thanks!!!
