I watched this show tonight and was really touched by the stories of these girls. It is so fantastic to see a celebrity giving back in such a positive way.
I admire Oprah for rising above the life she grew up with. But I admire her more for the things she does to improve other's lives.
These young ladies now have a chance at life, with a good education, in a safe haven and also, the chance to go to college and continue to grow. Oprah has promised to pay for the college expense of any girl that graduates from this school. The show really touched my heart.

I wasn't able to watch that particular episode. But I always tune in to her shows whenever I have the spare time. I honestly love her. Her generosity and compasionate heart really did a lot of wonder in this ever changing world. I once watched one of her show about a country (forget the name...) that has a high rating of people afflicted with AIDS. And how these people were ignorant of what AIDS is all about. She told the viewers that she now knows why she was not blessed with a child of her own. Because she feel that her mission in life is to help other people. I'm happy that she was able to fulfill her wishes. That is to help the needy children.

I watched that show last night, and hers that aired today also. I cried the whole hour last night. More people, esp. with her means, should do more to help the less needy in this world. We can't all be Oprah, but we can all help someone.

I think this is such a great thing she is doing. It is amazing to me how much education can do for people. Education can change the lives of girls, change lives of the underpriviledged and alter the very framework of society. Her school could really be the beginning of a big change in Africa.

I didn't watch the entire show. I only saw a few minutes of it. I think she did a great thing helping these girls out.
I got a good laugh out of the little girl who said that she thinks a woman president for Africa is a good idea because women know how to multitask. I thought was awesome and true. LOL

I saw that programme as well. One of the best things about it was that it is a resource that is in that country, rather than bringing a few kids out of that country.
Another thing was that she put a lot of effort into making it beautiful and comfortable even when other people were saying why bother, those girls aren't used to that level of things and don't need it.
Good on her for doing this, I wish there were more people who did. The school I work for sponsors a whole orphanage in Zambia but even all of us put together don't have those kind of resources.
