You may hear and see that Filipinos are poor but poverty is never an obstacle for Filipinos to laugh. You may see street children very thin and whatever but look at them, they smile, they laugh, they joke with each other, and they are happy. Just go around and you might not see anybody frowning, or showing any discontent even if they have not eaten for many days. You will see big families in slum areas and it's surprising how they survive, but they survive and happiness could be gleaned from their faces. I am a Filipino and it's wonderful to me how Filipinos could get this way. In whatever situation, Filipinos are generally happy and they are adaptable. They can easily make adjustments. Filipinos are really happy people.

I am Filipino and I agree. We genuinely are happy people. Despite poverty, economic problems and other obstacles in life, we do and I think will always be able to put a smile on our face. We are happy people, we look at the positive things in life. We are content with what we have and it shows, with the smiles we have all the time.

I guess it is true because even though in our situation being a poor country and having a pretty hard times we still find to laugh like we don't experience that there is a problem that goes on. WE even laugh at our problems and life goes on. I guess this sometimes becomes the defense mechanism of us Pinoys that instead of crying or getting serious about it we tend to laugh about it.

Just look at every Filipino's face. Wherever you go, whoever you meet, whatever type of people you encounter, you'll always see a smile here in the Philippines

yes i agree & happy with that belief that FILIPINOS are Happy People. we are always happy though we don't have much of the luxury in life 'coz every family members are always ready to give help & we are not longing for so much materialism or monetary things that will give so much reason to be happy. sometimes it's also disadvantage since we say people are so " happy go lucky & don't even aim for more to achieve " . . in a way people have different priorities also that we can't force anyone to work for more if his already contented for what he got - he's already HAPPY for it so let him be HAPPY .

How nice to read your share, the lack of luxury in life is not a hindrance to be happy, and it is sweeter to achieve something with our labor and that make us a happier person. It is such a blessing for people endowed with the character to smile which make other people to smile too.

it is nice to be happy, and my boss told me "why we need to be happy all the time" is luck and good fortune is closer to a happy person. I believed him so I try to be happy all the time.
Yes, and that is noticeable, Pilipinos are known to be hospitable and friendly with lots of smile. Lets keep it that way for it is a very good trait.
