Our weather here has warmed a lot recently which has made my allergies a lot worse. I start sneezing and feeling generally horrible. I try to take some medication but a lot of it makes me really sleepy. I usually take Equate Allergy/Sinus. What does everyone else take? Or if you use some method other than medication what is it? Anything will help. :)

I take benadryl when they get really bad, but I have been looking into herbal medicine.
A month or so ago I started having a cup of homemade herbal tea everynight. Among other ingredients, I put in some nettle, because I read in a book that it was good for allergies. I haven't had to take any benadryl for about a month now and boy is it great.
I hate that out of it feeling I get from the meds:(

I went thru a series of shots about 20 years ago & I have fewer airborn allergies than I ever had before. Now, if I could only get those darn food allergies to be as good. For example, I am allergic to cats, but because of the shots, I have a house FULL of the darn things!!!

I don't and never have had allergy problems but my next oldest son does. When he was young we read in natural home remedies book and it said eat honey! It has to be local honey the reason it works is the bees use the pollen from the local area to form the honey and some cemical reaction in the process helps your body build emunities to the pollen that causes the allergies... We did this for years and it really did work, a teaspoon of honey a day, if we didn't have honey his allergies acted up but within a day of taking the honey his problems would clear up.

LOL next to the Bible the most commonly read book in my house is the "Natural Home Remedies" book - I love it and have found many many things in it that work.
