Has anyone been to Timbuktoo?

I heard that it is somewhere in Amazon..Hopefully, someday i will go there with my band..music, music, all the way..

HI and welcome to mylot undead!, i think its spelled as timbuktu- if im not mistaken, no offense though :) I havent been there but i keep hearing that place a million times evryday- it became sort of an expression here in Manila, when your talking about a very far off land or if you been stuck in traffic for long hours and got late to where your going, instead of saying that you got stuck in traffic, they usually say they came from timbuktu- something like that. Actually,at first i didnt think there was actually a place named Timbuktu- then i saw it once on a scrollbar when i was registering for something. I find it interesting too, and someday i do hope to go there just for a tour- i read somewhere that it was where islam started in Africa...thats as far as i know =)
