I think both have their own importance. Also it depend on the use and noture of job. If u r a marketing person then laptop is good for you as due to traveeling nature of your job you have to carry it for presentation and other works and if you are a software engineer, then desktop is good for u.

I agree strongly. It all depends on yourself, because each has its own strengths and weakness. Desktop is preferable because they are highly economical due to the fact you could change the hardware. But doing that to a laptop is expensive. plus, laptops are fragile and they heat up quite easily, shortening its battery life. See, when the battery has to be replaced, u gotta buy a new one. Waste of money, considering their life and the harm you're doing to the environment. =P On the other hand, desktops are relatively affordable and can be tweaked to your own preference, liking and needs. The ONLY downside is that it is not portable.

I just bought a new computer and I had this dilemia too. I really wanted a laptop because they are portable. The thing that stopped me is that they are so much more expensive and they often don't have as many features and memory as a desktop. If I had unlimited money though I would have bought a laptop.

I have owned several home computers and several laptops. Laptons aren't very durable- as they are portable they get dropped alot- especially by kids, the mouse is hard to work and as you type you hit the mouse. GOAL- by a lapton with a mouse on the top of the keyboard- definately!

well, it depends on you usage. if you are looking for something mobile than a laptop would be good. but the issues with laptop is its slow working. difficult to work with mouse and keyboard. using a desktop at home is good. you change the devices if you have any issues. its easy to upgrade easy to repair. any issue with devices can be replaced.

Well actually to be safe, you should buy both. However if you are moving around, am using it for business, go on trips, etc. get a laptop. If you only use the computer at home, get a desktop. Oh I do not recommend Compact Presario. They are all right but if you want to save music online, you might not be able to record. I hope to get a Mac, but I would probably have to get it on a laptop because I cannot afford both.
