would you rather spit or swallow?

i'm afraid my pneumonia's back. :'( i've been having a hard time attending my classes lately because i keep on coughing that i have to excuse myself. it's really embarrassing sometimes because i feel like the phlegm's going to explode anytime. what makes my situation more difficult is when i'm in the mall or street then my cough attacks. i often find it hard to decide whether i should just spit the phlegm or swallow it (eww..). really. coz there are times when i couldn't find any trash bin where i could spit the phlegm out or there are no comfort rooms available anywhere near. i'm not really the type of person who'd spit anywhere on the streets. sometimes i just have to swallow the phlegm. disgusting, i know. lol. but how about you? would you rather spit in public or swallow your phlegm? hehehe
