i think simpsons are funny but should we allow our kids to watch it? there was a time when cartoons are generally associated with kids only .. simpsons are just a proof of changing times where parental guidance needs to be enforced on cartoons also.

The Simpsons premiered when I was in high school, and I haven't watched a new episode in years, so I don't know if they've changed much. From what I remember, I think it's fine for kids over around age 7. There's enough stuff that they'd understand, but they wouldn't get scared by the grotesque stuff that's meant for adults.

I think we should allow kids to watch the simpsons. Yes, they are funny and have cartoon violence most of the time, but at the end of the episode there are still things that even us adults can learn from. Also, since this is the one of the loooongest running animated series, they usually associate the simpsons with current events and personalities. This also serves (somehow) as a learning avenue between parents and kids.

Yeah, I think the Simpsons is alright. They do have an innuendo now and then, but they hardly ever use strong language and I think the Simpsons has stayed this way over the years so it can stay more family oriented.
Now Family Guy, on the other hand. . .that one's not for kids. Definitely not. Neither is South Park, of course, but you probably know that already.

I think children should be allowed to watch the Simpsons. There are some comments that relate to, shall we say, adult things, but if the kid is old enough to notice the comments and innuendo then he/she probably knows about what it's referring to anyway. I think that younger children shouldn't be allowed to watch the treehouse of horror episodes, but I suppose it's all up to the parents
