I had chronic ear aches, but they weren't really infections. It took going to an ear, nose & throat guy to get digonised with "shallow sinuses." After that, if I used ear plugs when I had a fan on in my bedroom, I didn't have a problem. A friend just has had a pretty bad ear infection, where it was bleeding & ozing pus, I'm so glad she didn't want me to look at it.

I think I might have a slight ear infection. I hate it when my twins get ear infections I feel so sorry for them. thry are my daughters boys. tht's too bad that it impaired your hearing. I didn't know it could do that. +

Dear one you sure have had a time of it. No infection here however my ear canals are crooked. Affects balance if I let it. Hope that those days are way over and you are on the road to balance, happiness and healthiness. All my positive energies for you.

I still get ear infections all the time. When I say this, people tend to say "At your age?" because I'm 26, but it still does happen. In fact, now everytime I go to my doctor she checks my ears even if that's not what I'm there for, just to be sure. Just a few months ago, I found out that I have another ear problem as well, called Meniere's disease. So now I wonder if the two things are related. Maybe I'll ask my specialist next time I go.

I have/had that problem too. I was very young so I don't remember it much. I was only 5 or so when I had the surgery to put tubes in. I guess that helps drain the excess fluid? Like I said I barely remember. Now I'm only 27 but I have noticible hearing problems. I have to keep the volume on my phone turned all the way up. I can't understand people if there is a lot of background noise. Even people with very deep voice give me some trouble. I also more and more find myself having to face the person talking to me. Not so I can read lips or anything, it's not that bad. It's more of a directional thing, like I hear best if the sound is coming directly towards me rather than from the side or from behind. The thing that frustrates me most is that no one around me understands that this really is a problem for me. They get annoyed if I ask them to repeat themselves too often or if I don't answer because I truly didn't hear them. It's like they all really think that I'm purposely ignoring them all the time and just claiming hearing loss as an excuse. It's so frustrating.

My youngest son had chronic ear infections. it was so sad and hard to try to get a baby to understand that the pain would go away. All I could do was hold him, rock him, and give him some meds for the pain and fever. But we also discovered that for the first 4 years, he didn't hear use well. We started to have to teach him sign language. And then a doctor finally listened to me when I explained that he had sleep apnea. When the sleep apnea, chronic ear infections, loss of hearing, and many other things put together. I finally got him the right doctor to help and he discovered that his adenoids and tonsils were so large, they were pressing on his inner ear not allowing him to hear. And at night when he tried to sleep, they would block his airway completely until he woke up enough to take a deep breath! Well, he has surgery to remove them. And to this day, he now is going to speech therapy to help catch him up to his age group. I am so happy that he can hear me now!!!

I have had ear infections since I was young and my children have had them. Right now, I have one along with my bronchitis, and the doctor says it is a very bad one. My right ear hurts terribly and is badly inflamed. My children do not get them nearly as often as they once did now that they are older, but when they do get them, they are always in a lot of pain.

I was a swimmer and had chronic ear infections. It got to be so that my eustachin tube wouldn't contract properly, and I imagine I also have scar tissue. I have a tough time hearing what people are saying when there is a lot of background noise, but I have never had my ears formally tested for hearing loss. I agree, the pain is horrible when it gets really acute!
