We live in a world of ideals, conflicts and broken promises. Ignorance spawns the ever-widening spiral that promotes more conflicts and extremists. Is there a solution to the seemingly unsolvable problem? Are there people who actually do not want peace? If so, is there a solution to the problem, or is humanity doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past over and over until we obliterate ourselves?

If you say no more than one occasion, then answer is "no", there can never be continous peace on Earth. The fact is, people are different, and that difference will be the core of the issues that arise time and time again. Even friends from childhood will grow up to have a different world view, if thats so, how do you expect someone that is on the other side of the world to understand you?
This is not to say that peace dont exist, but continous peace cannot be sustained. Our difference exist so long they are sometime very hard to give up. Globalisation is an attempt towards making people having a coherant world view, at least the one that "Westerner" think the world should run. That, of course, run into resistence, why shouldnt any other culture's world view be the world view of everyone? People take their petty difference and argue their heart out, and sometimes it goes beyond the simple verbal arguement and turn into conflict, conflict turn into war...
We can hope that one day human will realise that all this about difference or superiority will go away. But until a standardise education and a common world view can be achieve, it is still long way till there will even be a short-term peace.
Some will argue that this is a pessimistic view of human and human nature. But I'm a realist, I say what I see. Can you say that during the whole last week you didnt even have one single arguement with your closest love one, family member or friend? Unlikely. Even amongst people that you love so much you will have occassion arguement, how do you expect people from places that you never knew exist behave towards you
