when debating hurts......

i love debating over issues small and big. i think arguments help us to be more wise and smart, the two most imporant things in life. we can literally overcome our shortfalls and flippancy and become more objective, precise and sound in our approach towards life. we kind of develop a sane sense of judgement.
however, having said this, debating, (when caters to opposition), is often misinterpreted as enmity and dislikes. i cannot but raise this isuue, that here whatever, anti-comments i make is not atall personal, it's just another viewpont altogether. this is but to enrich the discussion and not to offend the user i have responded to.
how about this one:
Similarities create friendship while differences hold them together....
this, quite aptly, summarises my post.
thank you.
* i think, some of my friends will be happy now that i have posted somewhat voluminous discussion. even, i am glad that actually i could.

* I found your title confusing, misleading, and even pessimistic.
* I also found your post confusing, and I really didn't really got, what are you trying to say. I think, that is one of the reason, that people have not responded to your discussion, which sounds interesting (though, as I said, I didnt really got it properly).
* Personlly, I think, at the end of the day, life goes on, this way or that way, with or without debate. I do debating for fun, and hardly go sentimental on it. I also don't like to indulge myself in any serious argument(s), either with my family members, or close friends, as I have noticed that most arguments finally end on a sore note. For me, seeing happy faces around me is more important than winning an argument. So, I generally try to let it go...
Now some out of context comments too :
* Good to see you wrting long post, keep it up. Would you also like to write with proper punctuation(s). I think, one is suppose to start a sentence with a 'C'apital letter (upper case).
* You should be happy, that this discussion did'nt got many replies, so you won't have much chance to debate, and let either of the debater's feeling getting hurt!
Cheers!

well.......
pessimistic!!! really? why did you have to respond to then Mr. know-it-all ?? you require serious thesaurus lessons.
some ppl suffer from this J thing and tend to be a reformer !!
argument and criticism are not bad in the first place and why did you have to take it personally???
practice what you preach do not think you are an authority over grammar, so dude, stop giving me advice. you better concentrate on elementary grammar (rf: didn't got) which, i think is more important than pointing out my CAPS thing.
go through the myLot rules carefully and do not over utilize punctuations and *.
And one last word, you exhibit a good bit of demonstration of what is called a misnomer, as in your poster and user name.

I can't agree with you more!! Debates are in the interest of the society. It's only through brainstorming that we can see potential challanges to a brilliant idea. It's debating that tells us whether we are progressing or regressing. It's through debates that we learn the flaws in our tradition and share our best with the world, but on the flip side ,if the essence of debating isn't appreciated then it,at times ,can get personal and might result in burns to the soul. It's necessary to understand that there will always be as many opinions as there are minds and there can hardly be a perfect course. It's when we let our minds travel beyond what 'we' believe is correct ,that we can be to places never explored before. It's not in our interest to be be offented with what is a great blessing.

bingo!! you are right there, eating up words from my mouth. i really appreciate your analysis, especially, 'there will always be as many opinions as minds and there can hardly be a perfect course'; and if i may add to it, the more the difference and variety of opinions, the more ways we find out from them. this is but exploring new ways and new things in life.
you deserve the best response in every way.
thank you for elevating my post.

Wonderful quote - "similarities create friendhsip while differences hold them together'.
Debating on an issue naturally gives you different opinions, eg two sides of a coin. By debating an issue one gets positive as well as negative side of an issue. The person who starts the debate must be positive enough to see the broader picture. Meaning thereby he sould take the other side, may be I should say negative side in the right spirit.
Debating does widen your scope of thinking and in the end gives you a better solution to an issue.

I particularly enjoy debating. In fact, I'm a debator myself, representing my school in various competitions. I agree with you, saying debating helps to develop our mental capacity. I think it also sharpens our sense of judging things and develop a rather indispensable form of outlook on everything in life.
And the quote is awesome. Inspiring, in a way.

i really appreciate your input. debating does sharpen our brains and develops a critical mind which rises above the general. i do hope you keep up the good debating work going and rock in life with your wisdom.
i am glad you liked the quote. here goes one for you:
Knowledge is proud that she knows so much; Wisdom is humble that she knows no more.

Debates bring two sides of the same thing and deep study of the matter, but when somebody become smarter and uncomprmising things will change to big diaster.
