skizophrenia in the work place is it safe

i was wondering if anyone knows anyone they work with has this condition as i am in fear that a collegue at work suffers from this condition and some of the stuff he comes out with is quite scary and have heard they can become quite violent if anyone can advise how to help this collegue it would be much appreciated please help before something terrible happens
