Hi everyone, my bf has gone to work abroad and it's been a day without him and i feel miserable already. I have got to find a way to go to him. And the only way to do that is to find money for air fare, visa processing etc.
My idea is this (although it might take a few months), is to save up a few thousand bucks, and start a business. Franchising seems a good idea as the business is already established. I've gone online and there are franchise opportunities for as low as 15k in my country.
Now i'm basically torn between the following franchise opportunities
1. Burger stand (buy 1 take 1 burgers), this are delicious burgers(i've tried them) for around 20-30 bucks. This one is aimed at the masses such as transportation terminals, public schools, government sports complex, etc. capital is 40k. without rent. can function 24 hours a day.
2. Waffle stand - each waffle around 16 bucks. This one is better aimed in malls or in middle class schools. capital is 48.5k without rent. can function 10-14 hours a day.
3. CD cart - each cd would be around 6-15 bucks. depends on the brand and quality. Blank cd's that can be used to store data. This one is aimed for the yuppie and tekkie population. capital is 15k without rent. function 10am-8pm only.
I am actually leaning towards the cd cart, mainly because i'm a yuppie and i'm a tekkie. there is minimal chance of products not being sold since they won't spoil unlike food. HOWEVER, in my country, i have a big competition, one of the largest blank cd providers that does not offer franchise. This one will be best situated in a mall or places near a mall.
my mom wants the burger stand. and my brother wants the waffle stand (he likes waffle a lot), but basically i would be paying for all the fees and this will be my business.
return of investment for options 1 and 2 would be 2-3 months. For option #3, unknown, i am yet to research on this.
Now, i need your suggestions/advices on which you think would be the best option for us. so if you think about it 2-3 months of hard work, maybe even 6 months will be ok. because that would mean i wouldn't have to wait for 2 years to see my boyfriend.
plus if the 'business' prospers i would have a bit of freedom when it comes to providng for my family. because that means i would have another source of income other than my salary. also, the above options will need people to man the business. and i have cousins in college who can do with the extra cash. so not only will i be able to help my family, i would be able to help my cousins and lastly i would be able to see my boyfriend. with hardwork.
As for the capital, i can only afford as much as 15k. i would have to probably do a bank loan or a 'friend' loan. if my mom can share the fee then it would be good.
